Dilly-Is now on home trial!

Dilly is a 3 year old, black and tan, neutered female. mostly Mini Dachshund with a dash of terrier.

Dilly came in to the rescue from a lovely home, unfortunately due to a marriage breakdown and becoming a working single parent to a young baby, Dilly’s needs were not being met. Her owner took the brave decision to allow Dilly to come in to rescue and find a home where all her needs can be met.

Dilly is a real character! She has many of the characteristics of a Dachshund high prey drive on small fluffies and the bark! Dilly loves her exercise and is not lazy at all! She loves going out with Sarah and the horse. Dilly is a typical Dachshund and her answer to anything new is to bark at them, so although she is in reality good with other dogs, she will act weary and bark for a few minutes until she has got to know them.
Dilly is fabulous with horses, sheep, goats, cows, donkeys and she does live with a cat. However if she was to go and live with a cat, it has to be one that is happy to put a dog in its place, if a cat runs she will chase it, the cat in her foster home smacked her across the face once and now she avoids her! lol
Dilly would be suitable to go with children over the age of 10, the breed are not very tolerant of young children’s antics and on testing she was a little weary.

Dilly can be left for up to 4 hours with no issues and would suit a home where she can have at least an hours brisk walk a day. Please do not apply if you like your dogs on the podgy side, Dachshunds are prone to back problems and it is super important to keep them fit and lean to prevent back issues.

The rough monthly costs of owning Dilly are as follows:

Food = £20
Health care plan (This covers, flea, worm and vaccinations) = £18.99
Insurance = £55
Total rough monthly cost £93.99

Dilly is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, up to date with all flea and worm treatment and comes with 5 weeks free insurance. If you feel you could offer Dilly a home email [email protected]
